MVI56 BAS is a BASIC communication module manufactured by Prosoft Technology. This module is designed as a single slot module for converting a large number of traditional BASIC programs used on the 1747-BAS and 1771-DB modules into ControlLogix systems.
The features of MVI56-BAS include a user interface consisting of three ports: DH-485, PRT1, and PRT2. These ports support communication, BASIC program transmission, ASCII communication, programming, or DF1 communication. In addition, MVI56-BAS also has a compact flash disk slot that allows users to use CF cards to store BASIC programs. These BASIC programs can also be exported to another or local PC.
